Role Overview

As our Recovery Theatre Practitioner, you'll be an important part of our operating theatre team, providing both clinical and technical assistance. You'll help to assess patient needs, and then implement and maintain agreed standards of care. You will work in our busy and dynamic operating theatre, as part of a multi-disciplinary team that’s setting the benchmark for clinical excellence.

We have 5 operating suites covering Cardiac, Orthopaedics, ENT and Ophthalmic, Plastics, General/Vascular, Urology and Gynaecology. And we work with surgeons who are the very best in their field.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By

  • To participate as a post anaesthetic care unit(recovery) nurse, providing physical and psychological care to the immediate post-operative patients.
  • Help to control cross infection by observing departmental policy regarding dress, the maintenance of a clean working environment, decontamination and sterilisation procedures and asepsis.
  • Prepare patients for clinical/ operative procedures, both in anaesthetics and surgery.
  • Provide immediate post-operative care.
  • Provide initial emergency care as required

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

  • NMC Registered Nurse (Adult and/or Children)
  • Alternatively, you’ll be HCPC registered with a Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies. You might even be qualified to ODP Level 3 NVQ or ODA 752.
  • Previous recovery experience
