The City Bridge Foundation is a 900-year old historic charity of which the City of London Corporation is Trustee. CBF has remained vital to London over the years and today its primary purpose is to maintain and support five of London’s most iconic Thames Bridges. During the past 25 years, our vision has expanded to tackle social and economic divides across the capital. Today we still maintain our bridges, but via our funding team, the ‘City Bridge Trust’, we distribute approximately £25m each year to support other charitable causes. Collaborating with civil society, foundations, policy makers and businesses, we harness the combined experience of local communities and partners to build a fairer, more inclusive London.
Tower Bridge, London’s Defining Landmark, is a working bascule bridge, leading events venue and a popular tourist attraction and heritage site, with a formal education provision also. The Bridge exhibition receives circa 950,000 visitors and the Bridge venues facilitate around 150 corporate and private events per annum. The Monument, which commemorates the Great Fire of London, is a visitor attraction also managed from Tower Bridge.
The Role
The Business Manager oversees and develops essential and site-specific business support systems which are critical to the Bridge maintaining and growing its income, business and profile as a leading London visitor attraction and events venue, such as ticketing and trade partner systems (online and onsite) and customer service systems. The role also ensures the effective provision of support services which enable Tower Bridge to operate effectively, including successfully administrating the charity’s statutory obligation for raising Tower Bridge for river vessels.
In overseeing the Finance and Operational Support team, this role is responsible for asserting, implementing and maintaining excellent standards of internal and external customer service, respectively enabling the harmonisation of internal processes to the benefit of the business and ensuring the excellent outward reputation of the Bridge and the charity. The Business Manager is a key member of the Bridge’s senior management team, providing and presenting reports and information and intelligent analysis and input, ensuring the effective coordination of information across all teams at the Bridge and a smooth operation/business.

It’s important that you understand the requirements before applying to ensure you are able to meet them. We are committed to considering requests to work flexibly and job share. Requests will be considered by the recruiting manager in line with our policies and business needs.
We will be reviewing this policy and approach at regular intervals to ensure we’re meeting our attendance needs.
