Tasks
- Lead on all Town Planning aspects of STRABAG work on the HARP Project, and the wider business (where required) in line with the STRABAG management system, the STRABAG Environment and Sustainability Strategy and the wider HARP project requirements.
- Overall responsibility for coordinating and managing Consents to meet programme dates and to meet key contractual requirements.
- Build a strong, efficient, planning team which reflects STRABAG’s team working culture to support the HARP project.
- Advise and support the project directorate and management team in discharging their responsibilities towards all planning consents applicable to the project.
- Manage the communication and risk management of project related consent requirements in line with client and business needs. Ensure that the whole project team are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities and understand the requirements of the STRABAG ESMS, through formal briefings and site presence from yourself and the planning team.
- Provide expert input for the development of project specific management plans and approaches in line with the STRABAG UK ESMS and the preparation of risk assessments and method statements.
- Manage and undertake regular assurance activity to monitor compliance with planning legislation, STRABAG procedures, and client management plans.
- Be responsible for maintenance of records to support compliance with legislation, STRABAG requirements and client requirements. Gather, compile and report upon project specific information in line with STRABAG KPIs, Management System and the ESMS, including information required to fulfil various ISO certification requirements. Review trends, develop improvement initiatives and implement as required.
- Lead the investigation of incidents and near misses associated with consent compliance and support other teams in the investigation of other incidents as requested.
- Lead for the project in the development and management of relevant stakeholder relations, attending local stakeholder and regulatory meetings as required by the Project or as requested by the client.
Qualifications
- Significant town planning experience in the construction industry on large infrastructure projects or equivalent, comparable industry/projects (over 7 years)
- Strong demonstrable leadership skills essential, with experience managing teams in a complex matrix organisation.
- Project management and commercial/contract management experience required.
- DBS check will be required prior to appointment
- Full Member of professional institution (e.g. RTPI). Relevant Chartered status.
Desirable
- Experience of tunnelling
- Representation of industry relevant working groups.
- Experience of building teams would be advantageous. Leadership qualifications.
- Member of the Association of Project Management.
