London, UK. You will be at the heart of our trading operations, playing a pivotal role in our internal control system. You’ll ensure our global trading activities are executed with precision, compliance, and strategic foresight.

As a member of ETB you will be responsible for:
- Transaction validation: Ensure timely and accurate capture and validation of all financial/physical crude and products transactions.
- Market data validation: Validate relevant market data (spot/forward) to ensure compliance with company procedures.
- End-of-day processes: Support oil financial and physical end-of-day processes in ETRM systems, ensuring accurate Position and PNL reporting.
- Trade monitoring: Perform checks on unauthorized trades and monitor mandates/limits.
- Market conformity controls: Monitor financial and physical oil transactions for market conformity.
- Automation & system enhancement: Drive automation efforts within the Trade Control team, reducing manual processes, and implementing controls in trade capture systems.
- Cross-department collaboration: Serve as the interface between Middle Office and confirmation/contracts/operations departments.
- Compliance support: Monitor procedural compliance with new Financial Regulations (Mifid II/Position Limits) and execute first-level controls.
This is the opportunity for you if you have these skills and requirements:
- Experience in the commodities industry, preferably in an oil trading company or financial institution.
- Exposure to financial instruments related to Oil & Refined products.
- Strong understanding of control processes in a trading/regulatory environment.
- Familiarity with exchanges (ICE, CME, NYMEX, DME) and trading platforms like Platt’s Market on Close (MOC), E-window.
- Knowledge of IT systems (e.g. Endur) is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with VBA, Power BI, and Python being advantageous.
- Background in Middle Office / product control / Back Office / risk management in a trading environment.
- In-depth understanding of commodities markets, especially physical crude and products.
