We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Water Technician to Join our Water Consultancy business based in Abingdon, London, or Brighton.

About The Team

RPS Water Consulting is a team of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development, to our Water Industry clients to support business planning and delivery. About You

As a Trainee Water Technician, you will work alongside Experienced Technicians to develop your knowledge and understanding of the water industry and leakage detection.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will work outdoors to locate water main fittings and take noise samples using advanced electronic leak detection equipment, for which full training will be provided. Your day-to-day responsibilities will also include learning and developing your skill set within the water industry, deploying and retrieving data loggers, optimizing and operating the water network, and interpreting plans and schematics to identify asset locations. This is a hands-on opportunity to build your expertise while contributing to the efficient operation of the water network.

Skills, Knowledge, And Experience

  • Mechanical and or plumbing experience is preferable
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A willingness to learn and develop your career and professional knowledge

Qualifications

  • GCSE requirement in Maths and English 9-4 (A*- C)
  • UK Driving Licence

Health And Safety

This role may involve:

  • Moving heavy items including inspection chamber covers.
  • Working in all weather conditions (this could include night work also).
  • You may be required to work in confined spaces and on highways.
  • Please note mandatory drugs and alcohol tests are undertaken for this role and a DBS check will be undertaken.
