The Role
The Treasury Accountant will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, USA, Singapore, South Africa, Dubai, and Sweden. The role will work closely with the GFA and other finance professionals to prepare and support the consolidated financial statements, assist with regulatory compliance, and provide valuable insights into financial performance across the organization.
Working globally with K2 focused on a Finance and interacting with all regions, business units, in conjunction with and directly assisting the GFA and Group Finance Controller.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Treasury Operations and Cash Management:
• Manage day-to-day cash operations and liquidity across multiple entities and currencies, ensuring optimal use of cash and short-term investments.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow forecasts and perform variance analysis to improve forecasting accuracy.
• Monitor global bank account activity and ensure adequate funding levels in all jurisdictions (UK, USA, Singapore, South Africa, Dubai, Sweden).
Banking and Compliance:
• Maintain relationships with banking partners and ensuring compliance with banking covenants and KYC requirements.
• Coordinate the opening, closing, and maintenance of global bank accounts in collaboration with wider K2 teams.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and treasury policies across the group, including signatory approvals and fraud prevention protocols.
• Support external and internal audits related to treasury operations, providing requested documentation and reconciliation schedules.
Treasury Accounting and Reporting:
• Reconcile bank accounts and cash-related general ledger balances, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Ensure accurate posting of treasury-related transactions, including interest income/expense, bank fees, and FX gains/losses.
• Support the month-end close process with treasury-specific journal entries and reconciliations.
• Work with external auditors during annual audits, providing treasury documentation and explanations as needed.
Intercompany & Multi-currency Management:
• Ensuring proper Forex bookings with clear split into realised and unrealised gains/losses
• Manage intercompany funding arrangements, ensuring proper documentation, interest calculations, and compliance with transfer pricing policies.
• Assist with InterCo settlements and Forex postings in coordination with Management Accounting teams while owning and preparing a monthly InterCo matrix.
Internal Controls and Process Improvements:
• Own and enhance treasury-related modules within financial systems (e.g., Sage, Workiva), exploring automation opportunities.
• Support the implementation and improvement of treasury tools, bank interfaces, and cash management platforms.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in treasury operations.
Stakeholder Communication:
• Assist in presenting financial results to internal / external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory bodies, and investors where applicable.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice implementation across regions to ensure consistent accounting practices.
Any other tasks required for the needs of the business.
Experience: Skills /Abilities & Knowledge
• Strong technical knowledge with accounting systems usage e.g. Sage and other related transactional systems and databases
• Ability to learn and effectively use interrelated Finance source systems eg Ascent, AP Portal
• Technically systems strong and ability to identify improvements and drive change
• Proficient in advanced Excel skills including Sumifs, Filters, v-lookups, pivot tables, complex formulas and data validation
• Strong knowledge of preparation and development of financial and management reporting
• High level of analytical skills to create financial insight, process mapping, understand controls and reporting requirements
• The ability to understand and document data structures, processes, controls around financial and management accounting
• Experience of change management in a finance role supporting business processes
• Knowledge of working with various currencies, process complexities and business operations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills verbal and written

• Adaptable to change and works well under pressure

• As part of the role, the job holder will be responsible for the processing of information, which may be special category data by nature. The job holder is obliged to follow the company Data Protection, Information Security Polices.
• Full compliance and understanding whilst demonstrating full principles of all accredited ISO regulations
Training and Education
• ACCA or CIMA or local equivalent (necessary)
• Experience in a similar environment would be desirable
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures, controls, reporting and policies
• Experience in the financial processes of month end close, financial reporting and data management function
