My client, a leading challenger bank in London, is seeking a Treasury Operations Specialist to support the onboarding, ongoing maintenance, and risk assessment of banking relationships, counterparties, suppliers, and financial services providers. This role requires a strong understanding of KYC, AML, regulatory requirements and counterparty risk evaluation. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal treasury, legal, finance and compliance teams to ensure all due diligence processes meet the bank's policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the onboarding process for new banking relationships, suppliers, and counterparties, ensuring full compliance with KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct detailed due diligence on financial institutions, counterparties, and vendors, assessing their financial stability, regulatory standing, and operational risks etc.
- Maintain an up-to-date repository of KYC documentation, monitoring and reviewing for expiries, policy changes, and regulatory updates.
- Act as a point of contact for banks and counterparties, addressing KYC, due diligence, and compliance queries.
- Ensure all existing banking and counterparty relationships undergo periodic reviews in accordance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor changes in financial counterparties’ risk profiles, ownership structures, and creditworthiness, escalating concerns as necessary.
- Work closely with the compliance and legal teams to implement enhanced due diligence where required.
- Collaborate with treasury teams to support strategic banking relationships and optimise banking structures.
- Manager the process of the negotiation of ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs, and other relevant treasury documentation.
- Ensure accurate documentation of ISDA, GMRA agreements in line with treasury guidelines.
- Coordinate with legal and trading teams to ensure documentation aligns with business requirements.
- Develop and refine KYC and due diligence policies and procedures, ensuring industry best practices and efficiency in onboarding and monitoring.
- Stay informed on regulatory developments impacting financial counterparties, treasury operations, and ISDA documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing relevant KYC and due diligence documentation as required.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a treasury, banking, or compliance role with a focus on KYC, due diligence, and counterparty onboarding.
- Familiarity with AML, financial crime prevention, and regulatory frameworks affecting treasury functions.
- Experience managing relationships with financial institutions, payment providers, and other counterparties.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to assess financial risk.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in treasury management systems and KYC due diligence platforms.
- Experience working in a corporate treasury or financial services environment.
- Preferred knowledge of ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, and related trading documentation, although this is not a pre-requisite for the role for candidates with limited or no experience of these categories.
