Job Designation: Tutor and Assessor – Business Studies
Reporting to: Head of Faculty (Business)
Salary: 30K per annum (pro-rata £12,000 per annum)
Contracted Hours: 2 days per week, 16 hours per week, Flexible working days.
Location: London, On-Site.
Job Purpose:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver teaching and learning for the Level 3 Business Administration Diploma (60 Credits) and Access to HE Diploma in Business Management according to the agreed plans, implementing effective teaching strategies to engage students and facilitate learning.
2. Provide one-to-one or small-group tutoring support sessions.
3. Establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with individual students and groups.
4. Take account of ILRs created for each student to create learner profiles and ILPs, ensuring progress with achieving stated goals is monitored.
5. Promote the development of employability and wider skills in students, including their social and emotional development.
6. Provide support for bilingual/multilingual students, including developing knowledge and understanding of life in the UK.
7. Play an active part in developing the flexible curriculum and the learning materials to support this.
8. Show commitment to his/her personal and professional development.
9. Assess learner work for the Level 3 Business Administration Diploma (60 Credits), Access to HE Diploma in Business Management, according to the agreed plan and within stated timescales.
10. Provide specific feedback to learners based on achievement of the LOs and AC specified in the units.
11. Recording assessment judgements in preparation for internal verification and to monitor student progress.
12. Take account of information provided on individual learners, e.g. reasonable adjustments or special considerations, as it impacts assessment.
13. Checking learner work to ensure it is authentic.
14. Play a key role in the implementation of RPL, Credit Transfer and Exemption in accordance with the stated policy.
15. Contribute to discussions and decisions on assignments and tasks set for individual learners.
16. Show commitment to his/her personal and professional development.
17. Adhere to and demonstrate commitment to all the policies, procedures and values of London Professional College (LPC).
18. Have the facilities, tools, and equipment to deliver online, distance learning provision.
19. Undertake other duties as required, broadly consistent with this position's general functions and grading
