Job title – Veterinary Surgeon

Location – Melton, Leicestershire

Practice – Rutland Veterinary & Melton Veterinary Practice

Salary – £62,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

Hours – Full-time working 4-day week, 1:9 weekends (Melton) (Fri-Sat-Sun), Sat morning surgery, followed by on call. Monday off and half a day. 1:10 weekends (Rutland).

The team

Rutland Veterinary Centre is a supportive and community driven first opinion practice based in Uppingham, Leicestershire. We have a diverse and varied caseload, and our facilities are fully equipped to handle the services we provide. Our practice includes 24h out of hours service and pet diagnostic imaging.

Rutland Veterinary Centre are part of the community, In the last year we have been fortunate enough to attend a number of events including The Rutland Show and Rutland Pet Festival including more. We also pride ourselves on working and supporting with local charities these include Cats Protection, Prickleback Urchin Hedgehog Rescue, Neville’s Nest Guinea Pig Rescue and Leicester Animal Rescue.

  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment but can remain calm and collected under pressure.
  • Clinical decision-making abilities, whether you're managing consults or jumping into hands-on cases.
  • Someone who would enjoy guiding and developing our new graduates, helping them grow with confidence.
  • A laid-back, approachable personality that fits within a collaborative, supportive team.
