At Glaven Vets, people and pets are truly at the heart of everything we do. We’re passionate about supporting our team, delivering outstanding care to our patients, and building long-term, trusted relationships with our clients.
A Truly Supportive and Skilled Team
We’re a close knit, medium-sized practice specialising in small animals, with two well established sites in the beautiful North Norfolk towns of Holt and Wells-next-the-Sea. Our roots in the local community go back to the 1960s, and we’re proud to have many long-standing team members who share our commitment to high quality, compassionate care. While dogs and cats make up most of our caseload, we also care for the occasional rabbit or small furry. As the go to practice for local wildlife, we’ve treated everything from hedgehogs to deer, and even bats.
Our facilities are modern and thoughtfully designed, featuring separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, a dedicated nurse consult room, three additional consult rooms, a large prep area that doubles as a second theatre when needed, a fully equipped lab, dispensary, and a cosy break room. You’ll have access to excellent diagnostic tools including digital x-ray, ultrasound, K-laser, endoscopy, dental x-ray, multiparameter monitoring, and a tonopen. If you have a clinical interest that could benefit from additional equipment, we’re always open to discussing how we can support your development and enhance our services.
In this role, your time will be a blend of consultations, where we encourage continuity to build trust with our clients and one day dedicated to surgery each week. Surgical work ranges from routine procedures to dentals, imaging, soft tissue surgery and more. We aim to manage cases in-house where possible, but we do have access to referral support when needed. During the summer months, our caseload can increase as we welcome holidaymakers and their pets, adding even more variety to your day.
You’ll be well supported by our experienced team of RVNs who play an active role across the practice. From assisting with surgeries and inpatient care to running their own nurse clinics in weight management, behaviour, post-op checks, and preventative healthcare, our nurses are key to everything we do. We’re lucky to have team members with advanced knowledge in both dog and cat behaviour, which helps us deliver even more personalised care.
Giving Back To The Community
We really enjoy giving back to the community and we are passionate about helping animals as much as possible. We regularly work with local charities such as hedgehog rescue, cinnamon trust, cats protection and guide dogs.
Discover a Supportive Workplace
Our team includes four vets, nine RVNs, and ten support staff including receptionists, ACAs, admin support and our practice manager. We also work closely with a trusted group of regular locums to ensure the practice runs smoothly. We genuinely enjoy working together and regularly collaborate to make our workplace better for everyone.
If you’re looking to take the next step in your development, we’re happy to support certificates and ongoing education, including helping you transfer and complete part-finished qualifications.
