About This Opportunity

Cumberland Council is looking for a passionate and organised Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our Children and Families service. In this rewarding role, you’ll lead the development and coordination of volunteering opportunities across Family Help, Prevention and Youth Justice services. From recruiting and training volunteers to supporting Family Hub Parent and Carer Groups, you’ll play a vital part in strengthening community engagement and support networks.

We’re seeking someone with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant caring profession, and substantial experience working with children, families, and volunteers. You’ll need excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills, along with a strong understanding of safeguarding and partnership working. In return, you’ll join a supportive team committed to family-centred, strengths-based practice, with flexible working and opportunities to shape meaningful community initiatives.

This role is available on a permanent basis.

DBS Checks

This role requires a DBS check. The level of check for this role is - Enhanced DBS Check with a Children’s Barred List check.

Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Children.
