As part of Cancer Research UK’s Retail & Ecommerce Growth Strategy, we opened our first Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) in 2023, and are proud to now have four distribution hubs and online marketplaces across the UK.
We’re looking for a Warehouse Assistant to join Cancer Research UK’s Online Marketplace team in our Fleet Online Marketplace Hub. Our Online Marketplace Team sort, identify, value, photograph, and list items for sale on our online marketplace platforms (e.g., eBay, Depop, Vestiaire and ASOS). As a Warehouse Assistant, you will be trained in all aspects of the online marketplace which includes stock receipt, discovery, photography, listings and Customer experience
This will be an interesting and active role as part of a supportive and diverse team where you’ll discover something new every day, whether it’s a new treasure, a new camera angle or a talent you never knew you had. What will I be doing?
- Unpacking deliveries and sorting items into the correct categories
- Researching items where required to check if the value meets the requirements
- Taking High Quality photo’s as per brand guidelines
- Creating accurate descriptions of each item to enable accurate listing.
- Working to agreed daily targets for photography.
- Ensuring all listings have an accurate and enticing description.
- Using the correct keywords in the listing to attract customers.
- Prepare customer orders for dispatch – this includes lifting and moving stock of different weight and sizes where appropriate.
- Picking, packing, and sorting sold items within the dispatch department.
What are you looking for?
- Background in working in fast-paced environments that require stock processing and standing for prolonged periods (e.g. retail, hospitality, logistics, warehousing, etc).
- Interest in buying or selling on online marketplaces either in a personal or professional setting (e.g., eBay, Depop, Vestiaries, ASOS etc).
- Experience working to meet targets/ KPIs with excellent time management.
- Excellent eye for detail with a proven ability to work effectively under pressure whilst maintaining high standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative team player
- Good awareness of brand and buying trends with an interest in or previous experience with fashion or non-fashion (i.e. jewellery, accessories, antiques, or collectables etc) brands.
