We are currently recruiting for a Water Networks Designer to Join our Water Consultancy business. As a Designer you will provide technical leadership and guidance to a project team focused on delivering pressure management solutions in the delivery of projects to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery in terms of quality, time and budget.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge in clean water networks, hydraulics and pressure management. We are looking for someone who demonstrates good leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

RPS Water Consulting is a team of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development, to our Water Industry clients to support business planning and delivery. About You

As a key member of the Water Consultancy business, your role as Water Networks Designer is critical to helping us deliver great projects for our Water Industry clients. You will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of water project experts on a range of delivery projects.

Your Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the delivery of multiple pressure management schemes for specific client projects in accordance with project objectives, undertaking and leading processes in line with specific Client Standards and Specifications.
  • Guidance and support to less experienced colleagues working within your project team and beyond
  • Meet all responsibilities as outlined in the RPS HSE policy and management systems.
  • Take responsibility for delivery of project deliverables including but not limited to:
    • Feasibility studies / options development.
    • Asset Performance Assessments / Reviews.
    • Report preparation / drawings.
  • Action any changes that impact your projects which have been agreed between the framework manager and the client.
  • Point of contact for the construction contract should they require assistance.
Skills, Knowledge, And Experience

  • A deep knowledge in clean water networks and pressure management.
  • You will be expected to demonstrate significant experience in a modelling or engineering background at either a consultancy, water company or regulator.
  • This will include managing a team of modellers/engineers to deliver multiple projects to client satisfaction and to meet project objectives. This will include the ability to, for example, scope surveys, build a model, verify a model, develop notional solutions, use the model for analysis and write reports about the model.
  • You will have a proven record of delivering programmes of work to time, cost and quality in line with framework requirements and client specifications and manage change control (deviations), strategic risk and opportunities.
  • Demonstrable experience in discipline-specific network modelling applications such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoWorks WS Pro or SynerGEE, with InfoAsset experience also beneficial.
  • Experience with GIS software (preferably MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS).

Qualifications

  • Preferably degree qualified in a relevant technical subject. Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
  • Charterership or working towards chartership for Senior or Principal grades.
  • Affiliation with a professional institution like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM, or in the process of working towards membership and nearing application.
  • Proficient in MS 365 applications.
