The Role


This is a 12-month contract with the potential for extension to a perm, offering hybrid work with 2 days per week from the Canary Wharf office


The administration and acquisition of Wayleave agreements and consents. Being responsible for negotiating and securing access agreements with landowners, allowing the installation and maintenance of our infrastructure such as duct and fibre optic networks on private property, by managing the process of obtaining necessary permissions and resolving any disputes that may arise regarding land access, all while adhering to relevant legal legislation and regulatory frameworks.

What will you be doing?

Wayleave Acquisition

  • Collaborate with the Wayleave Manager to obtain permissions for the installation of electronic communications apparatus on private land and property.
  • When required, conduct land ownership research using the HM Land Registry to identify ownership of private land and property to secure wayleaves and consents. And other tools such as Streetworks Manager.

Negotiation & Coordination

  • Negotiate wayleaves for different types of land and property, such as business parks, industrial estates, and commercial premises and properties, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
  • Coordinate with planning, construction, external contractors and service delivery teams to update any requirements and ensure all necessary wayleaves and consents are obtained within project timelines.
  • Liaise with Customers, Tenants, Landlords, Managing Agents, Solicitors and Local Authorities, to facilitate effective network build programme and project delivery.
  • Resolving disputes or concerns raised by Customers, Tenants, Landlords, Managing Agents, Solicitors and Local Authorities

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Legal Compliance, to ensure all wayleave agreements comply with relevant legislation.
  • Schedule and attend meetings with Customers, Tenants, Landowners, Management Agents, Solicitors and Local Authorities and other stakeholders as necessary to discuss wayleave agreements and project updates.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Contractors, Customers, Tenants, Landowners, Management Agents, Solicitors and Local Authorities and any other stakeholders regarding permissions for installations.
  • Provide timely updates to the Wayleave Manager and project teams on progress and any issues that arise during the Wayleave acquisition process.
  • Maybe require to attend site surveys or meetings with external stakeholders or Customers, Tenants, Landowners and Management Agents to facilitate the Wayleave process.
  • Work closely with the Wayleave Manager to understand policies and processes, maintaining compliance with all regulations
  • Keep track of all Wayleave negotiations.
  • Accurately maintain detailed records of all wayleave agreements, communications and associated documentation.
  • Accurately update internal systems.
  • Process payments and raise purchase orders for costs and fees

Team structure:

  • You will be providing guidance and support to our Customers who request the provision of services for electronic communications services.
  • You will also be providing guidance and support internally to the Sales Teams and Project Managers.
  • You will receive guidance and support from the Wayleave Manager, Wayleave Team, Planning and Construction Teams.


What do we want from you?

  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in the electronic communications environment.
  • Previous experience as a Wayleave Officer (1+ year) is highly desirable, with a focus on negotiating wayleaves.
  • Knowledge of the HM Land Registry web portal is a significant advantage.
  • Knowledge of Sales Force is an advantage.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Good organisational skills, capable of managing changing priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting at all levels of the organisation and with external partners.
  • A proactive and results-focused attitude with a commitment to deliverables.
  • A team player who is adaptable and responsive to changes in deadlines and processes.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of legal processes related to land use and telecommunication permissions.
  • Project management experience or knowledge of project management principles.
