Description
As a
White Goods Electrical Grader / 3.5T Driver, you will be an integral part of our operations team, responsible for grading a variety of domestic appliances through visual inspection, identifying items suitable for repair and testing, and ensuring they are processed appropriately. In addition, you will be required to drive a 3.5-tonne vehicle to support logistics operations, including the collection and delivery of appliances over varying distances.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, physically active environment and has an interest in sustainability and electronics recycling.
Comprehensive training will be provided, so previous experience in grading or electronics repair is not essential but would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct visual inspections of white goods (e.g., washing machines, fridges, cookers) to assess their condition and suitability for repair, reuse, or recycling
- Accurately record grading outcomes using internal systems.
- Safely drive a 3.5T vehicle for collection and delivery of appliances, sometimes over long distances.
- Load and unload appliances from the vehicle, ensuring correct handling to avoid damage.
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
Job Requirements
Full-time position based at our Grantham site, with daily delivery and collection stops in Newark.
Hourly Rate: £12.13
Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- The role is primarily based in and around a warehouse facility environment.
- You will be regularly exposed to noise, dust, and heavy machinery as part of daily duties.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times to ensure safety.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Driving Licence | Full UK driving licence (Category B), eligible to drive 3.5T vehicles
Experience | None required – full training provided
Skills | Good attention to detail, reliable, and punctual
Physical Fitness | Able to lift and move heavy items safely
Communication | Good verbal communication skills
Work Ethic | Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Flexibility | Willing to work flexible hours and travel as required
