Department Communications

Key Responsibilities Purpose of the role

We have an opportunity in our Communications group for a 12-month placement (Year in industry). We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who would relish the chance to learn from Immunocore’s cutting edge science and corporate growth.  

 The role will provide support to the communications team in the development of multiple materials, campaigns and projects across a range of areas, that will allow the candidate to get hands-on experience and discover life sciences communication

Key Responsibilities

 The selected candidate will provide support in the following areas:

Social Media:

  • Support development of social media content, including organic content and promoted campaigns, on LinkedIn and potentially Facebook
  • Contribute to social media quantitative and qualitative analytics reporting

Writing and Editing:

  • Website content
  • Internal articles & company emails
  • Employee profiles
  • General copywriting and editing

Photo, Video, Graphics:

  • Editing and formatting of photos and videos for social media, web, intranet and digital screens
  • Videography and audio
  • Graphic design including infographics, Gifs and animations
  • Support creation and maintenance of company brand materials

Media Relations:

  • Help compile and update media contact lists
  • Prepare media reports
  • Assist with press release editing and distribution

Clinical communications:

  • Support creation of clinical trial awareness social media campaigns
  • Working with the Clinical team, help develop patient and HCP engagement materials

Miscellaneous Communications and Administrative Support:

  • Create and maintain PowerPoint presentations
  • Preparation of reports for meetings and presentations
  • Event planning and coordination
  • Project & task management
  • Comms team planning

Education & Qualifications

Currently studying towards a BA in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or a related discipline 

An individual who has a willingness to explore multiple forms of communication, including visual and digital  

Interest in absorbing and interpreting scientific subject matter, particularly biology, is preferred

Please note this is a full-time position is based at our Abingdon, Oxfordshire office and contracted through a third party.

Important information for all applicants

The application deadline is 10th January 2025, with phone interviews starting shortly after. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an in-person Assessment Centre on 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th March 2025, providing an opportunity to meet current placement students, learn about the role, and socialize with employees.

Placements are expected to begin on 8th September 2025.
