About The Role
We have a brand-new opportunity for a Graduate Performance Engineer to join our team in our Manchester office.
The performance of a building is the true measure of its success; how it lives and breathes in reality rather than ‘on paper’. But what does successful performance mean? While the construction industry is traditionally focused on energy, we understand that this may not always be the driving force and success can also be measured in terms of reduced carbon emissions, occupant comfort & wellbeing and reduced maintenance issues amongst others. Good performance will mean different things to different people; whatever the metric is, we recognise the importance of quantifying it and improving it.
One of the most important measures of the Performance of a building is its impact on the surrounding environment. The Paris Agreement has introduced a focus on reducing carbon impacts by 2050. Given that 80% of UK buildings that will existing in 2050 have already been built, the Performance Group measures and improves the energy performance of an existing building, in a bid to achieve net zero carbon.
As a graduate engineer your day-to-day tasks will vary, typically you can expect to be:
- Helping optimise Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Control Systems
- Undertaking site visits and client meetings

- Working on live projects from day one, in a variety of sectors from education and custodial to workplaces and residential, using data visualisation tools
- Researching ground-breaking technologies
- Carrying out continuous CPD and learning opportunities
Communication will span all of these, as we regularly liaise with project teams, meet clients or end users, and attend collaborative meetings.
You will receive a dedicated mentor and supervisor and you will receive the best training to support you through your development with us.
