Nottingham Forest Football Club is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Academy Matchday Doctor to join our dynamic and committed medical team. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of medical care and player welfare during Academy fixtures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pitch-side medical cover for home PDP Academy matches (U18 & B team), including Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) and Premier League/PL2 fixtures.
- Deliver immediate medical care in accordance with current FA and club protocols.
- Liaise with Academy physiotherapists and the club’s Chief Medical Officer to ensure continuity of care.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, medical governance, and EPPP regulations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- GMC-registered doctor with license to practise in the UK
- Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Valid FA Level 5 Advanced Trauma and Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) qualification
- FA Safeguarding for Children Level 3 – evidence of enrolment required if not completed yet
- Previous experience in pitch-side care, ideally within professional football or elite youth sport.
- Up-to-date Basic Life Support (BLS) and Safeguarding training
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications in SEM
- Knowledge of the FA’s medical governance and injury management systems (e.g. PMA, FMP).
- Familiarity with the EPPP medical framework.
Additional Information:
- This is a casual, matchday-based role (primarily weekends and occasional evenings).
- A full enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
