Accountant - Real Estate Investment Management

JSS are pleased to be working with a UK-listed real estate investment trust (REIT).

Recently internalised from its previous external management under the wider Asset Management Group, the business is now building a dynamic in-house team to support its continued growth.

We are looking for an Accountant to join the newly formed internal finance function. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a newly qualified ACA from a small practice who is ready to step into industry and get real exposure across a fast-moving, listed business.

You’ll work closely with the Financial Controller, taking ownership of core management accounting processes and playing a key role in budgeting, cost control, and business support.

Key Responsibilities

• Month-End Management Accounting: Prepare and post journals, reconcile key accounts, and assist in the production of accurate monthly management accounts across the group.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, working with budget holders to gather inputs and track performance.
• Cost Control & Analysis: Monitor and analyse actuals vs. budget, investigate variances, and provide meaningful commentary to help drive business decisions.
• Property-Level Oversight: Work alongside asset and property managers to track income and expenditure, support rent roll reviews, and manage property-related cash flows.
• Process & Systems Improvement: Help refine processes, improve internal controls, and assist with the implementation of finance systems and reporting tools.

About You

• ACA qualified (0–2 years PQE), likely coming from a small or mid-tier practice.
• Technically solid with a good understanding of core accounting principles.
• Strong Excel skills and keen to build your commercial finance capability.
• A self-starter who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and taking ownership.
• Comfortable in a hands-on environment, eager to learn and develop.
