This fast-growing financial services business provides bespoke alternative funding options to UK businesses, including cash flow finance, invoice finance, property finance, and asset funding. With a supportive finance team of 7 in London (plus an additional 5 overseas), you’ll be part of a collaborative and growing function with great scope for career development.

The Role:

As Accounts Assistant, you will play a key part in the day-to-day running of the finance team, assisting with purchase and sales ledger, bank reconciliations, loan reconciliations, VAT returns, and month-end reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in accounts to progress their career in a fast-paced professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing supplier invoices, expenses, and weekly payment runs
• Raising customer invoices and debtor management
• Performing bank reconciliations and posting transactions
• Supporting month-end (journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations)
• Assisting with cashflow and loan account reconciliations
• Helping prepare VAT returns and compliance documentation
• General finance admin and ad hoc tasks as needed

About You:

• At least 18 months previous finance or accounts experience (purchase/sales ledger, reconciliations , etc.)
• Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and experience of expenses, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Studying towards AAT or ACCA (or similar)
• Strong Excel skills, ideally with accounting software experience (Sage or similar)
• Detail-oriented, organised, and eager to learn
• Strong communication skills and team player
