Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a hands-on, proactive, detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the accounting and finance department within the sports business. Reporting directly to CFO.

Description

o Managing the Purchase & Sales Ledger and Fixed Asset Register

o Invoicing events, competitions and adhoc sales

o Ensuring collection of debtors

o Coding and preparing payments for authorisation

o Managing the stock ledger

o Completing bank and credit card reconciliations

o Ensuring staff expenses have been properly coded

o Preparing Quarterly Vat returns for review

o Processing refunds to players

· Working with venue partners to agree revenue share payments

· Submit Payroll for all staff to external agency

· Carry out monthly reconciliations on bank accounts - UK and Spain

· Help with production of Management and Statutory Accounts

· Liaising with suppliers and resolving queries

· Charging coaches for court usage

· Invoicing for events, corporate packages, competitions, late payments and subscriptions (recurring bookings).

· Any other duties consistent with the role -flexibility in a small team.

Profile

A successful Accounts Assistant should have:

• A strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in using accounting software Xero would be advantageous and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
