Accounts Payable Accountant

I am pleased to be supporting a Cambridge based client with a newly created role - offering the chance to join a collaborative finance team and make a real impact across their UK and international operations.

About the Role:

In this key role, you will manage the payables function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across multi-currency transactions. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll be involved in all aspects of purchase ledger, payroll journals, reconciliations, and continuous improvement of finance systems.

You’ll also play a crucial part in supporting broader finance operations, helping to drive performance and efficiency.

Occasional international travel (1 - 2 times per year) is required to attend global company events.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-end ownership of all payables-related activity for multiple business entities
• Processing multi-currency invoices, staff expenses, salaries, and pensions
• Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
• Payroll journal preparation and control account oversight
• Expenses processing using SAP Concur and reviewing process improvements
• Assistance with month-end and financial reporting tasks

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong experience in accounts payable, in senior capacity
• Solid understanding of cashflow, balance sheet control and reconciliations
• Confident working across multiple currencies and international bank accounts
• Previous experience of working with ERP systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working across global teams and with a diverse range of people.
