Have you got a passion for cancer care? Are you dynamic and compassionate with excellent communications skills? Have you got a desire for Advanced Practice?
We have settled into the new acute Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) we are looking to expand our Advanced Practice led Acute Oncology Service. This is an exciting time to join the team as either a qualified Advanced Practitioner or as a trainee. The service is a front door facing service working closely with the emergency department and SDEC to ensure patients presenting to SWBH with an Acute Oncology presentation are given the highest quality timely care by providing specialist input at the point of arrival.
To provide specialist input for patients presenting with complications of their cancer or it's treatment. The role will be mainly based at the front door, but will also include ward reviews and support for the chemotherapy day unit which will be based at Sandwell Hospital. AOS bridges the gap between SWBH and the patients cancer centre.
Applicants, once fully trained and qualified will be expected to accurately assess and manage complex patient presentations to a high professional standard.
You will also have high standards of communication skills to be able to discuss patients and their care with a wide range of different members of the MDT, including the patients parent consultant team.
Work alongside a small AO Team to ensure the best care is provided to our patients.
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWB) serves Birmingham and the Black Country – one of the country’s most culturally diverse areas. It’s a friendly and welcoming place – a place where you can belong, and a place where you can grow.
We care for our patients, we care about our population, and we care about our people.
Our values – Ambition, Respect and Compassion – are at the heart of who we are. They guide us every step of the way; how we work with each other, and how we look after our patients and their families; how we respect and value the rich diversity of our team and our community.
Our Trust has always aspired to be more than a hospital, more than a healthcare provider. Our purpose is to “Improve the Life Chances and Health Outcomes of our Population.” It is what inspires, drives, and unites us every day. It’s what makes us unique.
We want working at SWB to feel like more than just a job. We want our Trust to be a place where you can feel you belong. A place where you feel happy, safe, and rewarded. A place where you can develop your career in whatever way you choose. When we say we’re ‘with you all the way’ we want you to know that we mean it.
