Administration Assistant
West Midlands Hospital
Part Time - 15 hours per week
West Midlands Hospital is one of the West Midland's leading private hospitals set in 3.5 acres of pleasant grounds at Colman Hill, Halesowen, ten miles from Birmingham City Centre. Operating since 1988 the hospital has 29 private bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities.
By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. We have two theatres one with Lamina flow, and cover a wide range of surgical specialities; these include Orthopaedics, General surgery, Gynaecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Cosmetic and urology. We also have a separate endoscopy suite.
In September 2020, we opened a designated off-site ambulatory care unit with an operating theatre and two recovery bays, located less than 5 miles from the West Midlands hospital to enable us to offer more services to our patients.
We are looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Medical Secretarial Department at West Midlands Hospital.
This is an extremely busy role liaising with patients, Consultants and all hospital departments. We need an individual with a professional approach, excellent verbal communication skills, initiative and the ability to work within a team. You must be computer literate – experience with Word and Outlook being essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaising with patients by phone & letter
- Booking appointments
- Liaising with consultants and their secretaries
- Ensuring timely completion of appointments on to EPR system
- Scanning & auditing of patient information
- Preparation of clinics
- Maintaining clinics on the EPR system
- Booking appointments
- Reception duties as required
It is essential that you have:
- Excellent organisational skills
- An excellent standard of computer literacy to include experience in Word & Excel
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills – written and oral
- The ability to work within a team
- Excellent time-management
- Experience using a Patient Administration System (PAS) an advantage
