Job Overview
To provide an efficient and comprehensive administrative service to the Vascular Access Service.
Main duties of the job
Communication
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with confidence in communicating in a variety of ways including face to face, telephone, electronically and in writing with a wide variety of staff groups and external contractors.
To be able to act appropriately in a professional manner and be able to communicate sensitive and confidential information to staff.
To collect, assemble and act upon information as required, referring to the clinical teams as necessary.
Meet and greet Visitors to the department.
Present written information in the required format as per Trust and departments agreed standards.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To be proficient in the use of MS Office Systems - this includes keeping records using a variety of file management systems using word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. To produce from copy, or audio, letters, reports, notices, plans, projects, policies and minute taking for appropriate meetings.
Ability to work under pressure, to be flexible/adaptable to the changing needs of the service. Work on own initiative to a high standard and make decisions as appropriate and necessary.
To provide comprehensive professional, confidential secretarial and administrative service to the team which includes opening, sorting and distributing incoming post, book and outcome patients into clinics, to arrange appointments and meetings as required and to schedule and advertise Trust wide training for a variety of staff groups.
Roster and allocation management.
To be responsible for the management of the service electronic diary and supporting the teams in maintaining diaries as and when required.
