Based ideally in our Manchester office, we are looking to expand and grow our small, but perfectly formed Advisory and Turnaround team. The team itself sits within the wider firm, which focuses on both corporate and personal insolvency. The Advisory and Turnaround team’s overarching aim is to help financially distressed businesses avoid insolvency or more formal measures where possible or, manage it in an orderly way when it can’t be avoided. In short, we try our best to help firms find positive outcomes.
Why this role and a bit about you!
This role offers someone the chance to kick start their career in an exciting sector, or to perhaps take their career in a different direction. No direct previous experience in insolvency or turnaround is required but you should be financially literate (either via formal qualifications or through experience) and very much willing to roll up your sleeves. The team operates quickly and at pace, so you should be comfortable being uncomfortable and ready to find 6th gear when needed.
As a person, you will be naturally curious and will want to ask those pertinent, and sometimes, challenging questions. You should be logical in your approach and have a desire to solve problems.
A large proportion of this role will be spent communicating; both internally and externally so it is important that you are a confident communicator who enjoys speaking to a broad range of people.
Over time we hope that you will develop an understanding of a broad range of insolvency proceedings but also the wider economic climate and the impact that can have on any one business
This role sits with in a team, so you should be a good team player who understands when the time to focus is and when the time to noodle ideas. Your positive, flexible, and can-do attitude is what will make you stand out from other applications.
