Advanced Cardiac Physiologist (Echocardiography)
Contract: Full Time, 1-Year Fixed Term (Maternity Leave Cover)
Department: Cardiology Investigations Unit (CIU)
The Cardiology Investigations Unit (CIU) at Frimley Park Hospital provides a comprehensive range of both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic cardiology services for inpatients and outpatients. Our services include a 7-day non-invasive testing schedule and a 24/7 Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PPCI) service.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated cardiac physiologist to join our team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will be a competent and independent practitioner in echocardiography, including experience with stress echocardiography and contrast-enhanced imaging.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Performing and reporting echocardiography procedures independently
Supporting advanced imaging techniques such as stress and contrast echo
- Contributing to the training, supervision, and development of junior staff
- Acting as a specialist technical resource within the team
- Demonstrating flexibility in response to service demands and departmental changes

Main duties of the job
- Expert with a high level of professional and clinical knowledge acquired through formal training / experience in echocardiography.
- Registered physiologist either with the council for Clinical Physiologists and British Society of Echocardiography accreditation.
- The post holder will have substantial experience in cardiology, significant experience at a senior level with highly developed specialist knowledge in echocardiography.
- The post holder will carry out highly specialist echocardiography procedures including stress echo and physiologist led valve clinics. They should hold specialised clinical reporting skills and knowledge.
- Personal management, including time management and the ability to prioritise.
