Applications are welcome for a trainee which will be a Band 7 until successful completion of MSc and Clinical Portfolio.
To work a split job role between the urology on-call team and the urology stone service running nurse-led clinics in the out-patient setting.
The post holder will be a skilled, autonomous practitioner working as a core member of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care to patients. They will possess the skills, competence, expertise and clinical decision-making abilities required to plan, co-ordinate and prescribe treatment for patients. The post holder will fulfil the expectations and core capabilities of an ACP as set out in the multi-professional framework for advanced clinical practice in England (HEE, 2017) the RUH Trust Framework for Advanced Practice and the Trust ACP Job Description. This means working in conjunction with the 4 pillars of advanced practice.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership for the development of integrated patient pathways in the team which are in line with recognised best practice and evidence base, working closely with stakeholders and care providers.
Main duties of the job
To act as a professional role model, leading, co-ordinating, providing highly developed specialist knowledge and supporting all our urology patients
To work closely with the urology stone consultants, all of the urology team including the urology nurse specialists who provide the out-patient advice and guidance service, any other stakeholders to develop, implement and maintain a stone pathway to support patients throughout their treatment and management.
To practice autonomously and with the disciplinary team and in accordance with our local urology/stone guidelines/protocols/SOPs to ensure patient safety

Essential criteria
- Significant experience of working as a registered practitioner in a provider organisation (e.g. acute sector, community provider, third sector, social care or primary care) and within a relevant specialty (suggested 4-5 years minimum)
- Demonstrates evidence of on-going continuous professional development.
- Educated to degree level or with appropriate level of experience - Nurse Practitioner course with completed and up to date competence in clinical assessment and history taking (or completion within 2 years of starting post).
- Competent in management and troubleshooting of indwelling and supra-pubic urinary catheters.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within urology patients.
- Competent in management and troubleshooting of indwelling and supra-pubic urinary catheters.
