As a key member of the acute medicine multidisciplinary team you will be working alongside other clinicians whilst providing an enhanced clinical pharmacy service that supports the high quality, safe and timely management of our patients across the 'front door' at Royal Derby Hospital.
Our acute medicine pharmacy team is comprised of dedicated pharmacists and medicines management technicians. Alongside the clinical elements of the role you'll also have the opportunity to further develop your skills and experience in leadership, quality improvement and clinical governance.

- Working as part of a dynamic team providing a high quality clinical pharmacy service across Acute Medicine at Royal Derby Hospital.
- Support the MDT with on-the-spot clinical advice and implementation of prescribing decisions, promoting use of Trust and national clinical guidelines and optimising patient medication where possible.
- Help support quality, safety and timeliness of prescribing on admission, facilitate effective communication of medication changes to GPs and primary care teams.
- To support the development and leadership of staff, and to optimise performance and delivery of service objectives.
- Provide line management, service coordination and leadership for Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician team members.
We see pharmacist independent prescriber status as a critical part of this role but will accept applications from candidates currently working towards this or willing to undergo training to achieve this qualification.
