About The Role
With the Civil Aerospace landscape rapidly evolving to meet increasing passenger demand, zero-emission goals, and sustainable manufacturing requirements, there has never been a more exciting time to help shape the future of industrial solutions. The NCC’s Aerospace team is at the forefront of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and next-generation High-rate Next Generation Single Aisle development programs. These initiatives aim to revolutionize aircraft manufacturing while supporting ambitious government efforts to anchor whole aircraft / large workshare in the UK economy.
To support this, the NCC’s Aerospace Chief Engineers team is seeking an inspiring and experienced Sector Engineer to provide technical expertise, drive development activities, architect programs of work, and serve as the technical authority for assigned technology and customer programs.
As an Aerostructures Sector Engineer, you’ll collaborate to define customer needs, scope multi-disciplinary development tasks required to mature engineering challenges and apply novel technology solutions to mature and deliver industrial readiness. You’ll ensure high levels of technical excellence and govern cross-capability, collaborative and directed, R&D projects within the NCC’s £16m+ Aerostructures portfolio. Additionally, you will contribute to local sector strategies and steer internal technology and capability needs in partnership with the Technology and Capability functions.
Acting as a focal point for technical quality, you’ll work with PMs, external customers, and stakeholders to deliver novel solutions, the likes of which the industry has not yet seen. Key activities will include sector representation for knowledge-related Core & CapDev programs of work, technology pull-through and coaching & mentoring of engineers deployed into the programmes of work.
With the wide range of technologies that feed into these programmes—from design to automation, digital engineering to flying demonstrators—this is an exciting opportunity to innovate and make a positive impact on the UK's Aerospace productivity.
