A well-established main contractor is looking to appoint an Aftercare Manager to oversee the defect resolution process. You’ll be based primarily out of the East London Head Office, with weekly visits to two key projects in Cambridge (a high-spec retirement village and a large-scale residential development) to manage relationships, monitor progress, and ensure a smooth handover experience for residents and clients alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for residents, clients, and managing agents during the aftercare and defects liability period
- Track, prioritise, and resolve defects using internal systems (experience with Procore is a plus, but not essential)
- Conduct weekly visits to Cambridge sites to meet with project teams and clients, assess ongoing works, and ensure SLA targets are met
- Provide clear and regular updates to internal teams and external stakeholders on defect status and resolution timelines
- Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and operatives to coordinate remedial works and streamline the aftercare process
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in an aftercare, defects management, or customer care role within construction
- Strong communication skills and a confident, client-facing approach
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand typical construction-related issues
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
