Costain are the Asset Renewal Partner at Heathrow Airport, an exciting opportunity for Costain and potential candidates looking to grow their experience in infrastructure projects. With work in the terminals, Rail and Road tunnels there are excellent opportunities for candidates to broaden their experience in infrastructure projects. The Asset Renewals Partnership is made of up of programmes and projects varying in value, size and complexity putting the client and the passenger at the heart of everything it delivers.
The Asset Management and Compliance Programme, the largest programme at Heathrow, involves the replacement or renewal of engineering, technology, and commercial assets across the Heathrow estate; it also ensures that assets are compliant to regulatory or statutory requirements throughout the service offering at the airport.

Our partnership at Heathrow continues to grow and as such the Costain Heathrow team are looking for a Agent to manage the H7 Renewals works in the Main CTA Tunnel at Heathrow Airport within the ARP portfolio.
The CTA tunnel is one of Heathrow’s most important assets and links the Central Terminal Area to the M25 and M4 spur to the north.
The Main CTA tunnel scope involves the delivery of two separate packages. Q6 (Cladding) and H7 renewals. This role is recruiting for the H7 Renewals package and the successful applicant will lead the delivery of the package through to close out of assurance and handover.
One tunnel bore closes each night to allow approximately 4-5 hours of work, whilst the other main tunnel bore operates on contraflow to maintain traffic flow through the night.
The H7 renewals covers the following headline areas and is a group of requirements which fell out of various inspections, PI reports, other observed issues etc. by HAL
- Civils repairs (including steel structure repair and replacement, concrete repairs, water ingress, drainage
- Portals and Approaches
- Tunnel Accessibility
- Contraflow
- Approach Traffic Signage
There will be a requirement for the H7 renewals scope to be delivered in as efficient a manner as possible, whilst maintaining the focus on Q6 cladding. The successful applicant will be expected to work with the Costain Q6 PM to fully deconflict, integrate and coordinate both projects

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a H7 renewals project from the stage in which it is allocated to us to its end point working with the various disciplines, the supply chain and with Heathrow (our partner)
- Packages manage all the subcontractor
- Ensure the project and contractual requirements are met while maintaining a strong relationship with our partner.
- Proactively manage the Programme, risks, opportunities and budget
- Deliver Internal and external reporting with overall responsibility for meeting the performance requirements of the project (s)
- Leading by example in respect of Health, safety and wellbeing,
- Drive efficiency and continual productivity improvements, creating best practise for the team and adding value for our customer.
- Understand and Champion the Heathrow one team ethos.
- Champion Sustainability for all those involved
- Establish clear lines of communications throughout the integrated team, defining roles and responsibilities in order to ensure the efficient use of resources and the delivery of cost-effective solutions.
Essential:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Understanding of Engineering Principle
- Knowledge and understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training.
- Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system).

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering
- Vocational training in Engineering
- Relevant CSCS Card
- Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
- Logical and concise approach to work
- Ability to pay close attention to small details that could impact results
- Effective communication and strong stakeholder management skills
- Problem solver who is comfortable working others
- Passionate about improving performance in the sector through best practice, process improvements and continuous improvement practices.
- A good understanding of change processes
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload, balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment.
- Care about doing a great job and exceeding expectations with the quality of what you do.
- Previous experience of people management on complex/sensitive programmes and have successfully impacted peers/others in order to gain buy-in to enable change to happen.
Desirable:
- Computer competence (Primavera software, Synchro).
- A background in infrastructure projects
