An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NIHR East of England Regional Research Delivery Network. We are searching for a dynamic leader who will manage the Agile Research Delivery Team, supporting studies in the Wider Care settings and for key studies in NHS Trusts across the region.
As Senior Manager, you will also have responsibility for a programme of work to reach out to new settings to enable them to become research active. The post holder will play a key role in providing expert strategic leadership to build on the East of England track record of work in primary care and other wider care organisations
The position includes line management of your team of Agile Research Delivery Team Manager(s) and professional accountability when applicable. The post holder will represent the Agile Research Delivery Team as required. The role involves contributing to, and at times leading, strategic programmes for the Agile Research Delivery Team, regionally and nationally.
The post holder will be accountable to the RRDN Director and report to the RRDN Head of Research Delivery & Support for Wider Care Settings. If you have extensive research experience, like a challenge, can inspire the best from a team, this could be the role for you!
- Provide oversight of local feasibility assessments for studies, including identifying potential sites/investigators for the study, assessing the available research resources and facilities.
- Have oversight of contractual arrangements for Agile Research Delivery Team deployed across NHS and wider health and care settings, establishing appropriate channels for professional accountability.
- Responsible for policy implementation and development, working with organisations across the RRDN.
- Actively engage with and advise on opportunities for enhanced delivery of the NIHR Portfolio, ensuring equity of access to research across settings, specialties and communities.
- Support the Life Sciences Industry team, Study Support Service and Wider Care Settings team in growing and delivering research activity.
- Communicate with internal staff and a range of stakeholders to ensure compliance with strategic objectives.
- Act as a champion for patients, participants, carers and the public, ensuring that their interests are meaningfully incorporated into the development and delivery of the RDN and RRDN.
- The role will identify and guide emerging capacity opportunities and existing research governance arrangements of new sites and settings, requiring liaison with the Study Support Service and Wider Care Settings team to ensure appropriate support and training is provided.
