Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Air Freight Operator based in London, offering some work-from-home flexibility. The Air Freight Operator will be responsible for coordinating and managing air freight shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations, monitoring shipment status, and maintaining communication with clients and partners. Daily tasks include documentation, problem-solving, optimising routes, and providing exceptional customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day air freight export operations with a focus on LATAM shipments.
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, airlines, and overseas partners/agents.
  • Arrange collections and deliveries, ensuring all shipments are moved on time and in full compliance with requirements.
  • Provide accurate and competitive quotations to partner agents and customers.
  • Prepare and check all necessary shipping and customs documentation.
  • Liaise with customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance for both imports and exports.
  • Monitor shipments proactively, resolving any service issues or delays.
  • Maintain accurate records within Cargowise (training can be provided).
  • Essential Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in logistics operations within a UK freight forwarder.
  • Solid understanding of air freight operations, including UK suppliers and airline routings.
  • Knowledge of UK customs clearance procedures for both import and export.
  • Excellent computer literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.


Desirable Skills

  • Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish.
  • Experience using Cargowise.
  • Previous LATAM trade lane experience.



Working at Corten

  • Hybrid working – in the office Tuesday to Thursday, remote Monday and Friday.
  • Standard hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm.
  • Annual company bonus scheme.
  • Training budget for Dangerous Goods certification.
  • Reporting to: Head of Air Freight
