We're looking for an energetic, people-focused
Allotment Greenspace Development Officer to lead on the development and day-to-day management of our city’s diverse and vibrant allotment network. This is a unique opportunity to combine your passion for the outdoors, your knack for project management, and your commitment to community empowerment, all while making Nottingham greener, healthier and more sustainable.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing and developing allotment sites across Nottingham
- Working directly with plot holders, volunteers, local groups and associations
- Leading site improvements, minor works, and health & safety compliance
- Writing and delivering site management plans and funding bids
- Coordinating contractors, events, and capital development projects
- Using your specialist skills (e.g. horticulture, GIS, asset management) to improve services
- Promoting biodiversity, sustainability and inclusion in everything we do
Who We’re Looking For
- Has practical experience in greenspace or allotment management
- Can work confidently with contractors, communities and Councillors
- Understands the importance of Green Flag standards, community engagement, and volunteer involvement
- Knows how to manage budgets, procurement, health & safety and project timelines
- Can juggle competing priorities while keeping an eye on the bigger picture
- Is digitally confident (mapping tools, databases, reporting) and a good communicator
