What you'll do:

As an Actuarial Analyst within Aspen's UK Actuarial Function based in London, you will play a central role in supporting both routine operations and strategic projects that underpin the company's actuarial services. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you engaging with multiple teams across the business-ranging from underwriting to finance-to deliver timely management information and insightful reports that inform decision-making at all levels.

• Assist in delivering accurate management information and reporting for Aspen Insurance UK and Syndicate 4711 by applying market insights and critical judgement throughout the process.
• Support quarterly Technical Provisions work as well as other Solvency II reporting requirements, including those involving entities outside of the UK.
• Contribute to Lloyd's reporting requirements for Syndicate 4711 and respond effectively to requests from the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA).
• Develop management information that enhances executive and board understanding of key actuarial insights across relevant UK management committees.
• Work collaboratively with actuarial reserving, pricing, underwriting, claims, finance, and other business functions to integrate process improvements that drive efficiency.
• Assist in preparing Actuarial Function Holder reports for UK entities covering Technical Provisions, Underwriting Policy, and Reinsurance Adequacy.
• Support actuarial projects arising from recommendations of the Actuarial Function as well as broader initiatives across the Aspen group.
• Participate in independent reviews addressing challenges from regulators or internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with governance standards.
• Collaborate with pricing and reserving teams to strengthen feedback loops between departments for improved outcomes.
• Review and challenge UK entity reserving results as part of global reserving reviews while articulating legal and regulatory demands impacting the actuarial team.

What you bring:

To excel as an Actuarial Analyst within Aspen's UK Actuarial Function, you will bring proven experience gained from roles focused on pricing or reserving or model development within general insurance

• Proficiency in data manipulation techniques using MS Excel and other analytical tools relevant to actuarial modelling.
• Established knowledge of simulation techniques used for pricing loss-sensitive product features within insurance contexts.
• Solid understanding of financial services industry best practice relating to actuarial analysis, modelling methodologies, and underwriting processes.
• Awareness of compliance issues affecting actuarial functions within regulated environments such as Solvency II or Lloyd's frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills enabling you to produce detailed reports tailored for various audiences while persuading or influencing stakeholders when necessary.
• Ability to conceptualise solutions for specific problems through effective use of numerical data interpretation skills.
• Strong organisational abilities allowing you to manage workloads efficiently against deadlines within defined procedures set by functional teams.
• Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams on data-driven projects or systems implementations within insurance settings.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in a field emphasising analytical thinking and clear written/verbal communication skills.
