Overall Purpose of the Job
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to join our dynamic team at Expro’s Fluids Analysis Centre in Reading. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a leading Oil & Gas analytical laboratory, specialising in Gas Chromatography (GC) for the analysis of hydrocarbon gases and liquids.
Whether you are just starting your career or bring years of experience in analytical chemistry, this role offers the chance to engage in hands-on laboratory work while also supporting and reviewing data produced across our international facilities.
Key Activities And Accountabilities
- Perform analytical testing using a range of Gas Chromatography equipment for hydrocarbon gases and liquids
- Apply robust analytical techniques with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a methodical, systematic approach
- Conduct hands-on experimental work and contribute to method development and continuous improvement
- Review, validate, and interpret data produced by other laboratories within Expro’s global network
- Collaborate with international colleagues and, when required, travel to support laboratory activities across various regions
Job Knowledge And Qualifications
- A degree or higher qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline is essential.
- Experience with Gas Chromatography and hydrocarbon sample analysis is advantageous but not essential for junior applicants.
- Strong observational, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
