About The Role
At the London Borough of Hounslow, we have big ambitions. And our Housing and Tenancy Management Services are helping us realise these by transforming how we work for our residents. Right now, we’re looking for ASB officers to be accountable for leading and managing Anti-social behaviour cases across council estates and to deliver the Councils statutory duty in relation to Antisocial Behaviour in council Housing.
In this role, you’ll manage all ASB cases with support from relevant Housing and Tenancy Officers and covers both residents and leaseholders. The purpose of the role is to resolve ASB cases through achieving positive outcomes using a variety of legislative powers and preventative measures to increase resident satisfaction with the management of such cases.
You will have experience in Anti-social Behaviour as you are expected to handle cases with tact and initiative. You will be expected to be able to control a diverse case load and deal with changing priorities as directed by your manager.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
The team aims to provide a first-class Anti-social behaviour management service to Hounslow Council residents. Working effectively as part of the councils housing services directorate, delivering corporate objectives through the work of the housing service. The team’s aim is to promote a culture of putting service user needs first at every opportunity and have an action plan for all ASB cases which meets our customers’ needs in line with regulatory requirements.
We are estate based, providing a responsive and proactive service to residents. We look to solve a majority of issues before they escalate.
We are a team who are focused on the needs of our tenants and promote creative and innovative ways of tackling local problems, ensuring service delivered meet the needs of our community and are accessible to all users.
Some Of Our Aims Include:
- To be visible on our estates and pro-active in managing ASB within the community.
- To gather good knowledge of our estates in relation to ASB issues so we know how best to plan our strategies.
- To work with other officers in Housing and where appropriate other departments such as community safety team and estate enforcement team to ensure services are integrated at the point of delivery by improving service quality.
About You
Key Responsibilities:
- You will make full use of the anti-social behaviour management tools made available under the Anti-social behaviour, crime, and policing Act 2014. Utilising the legislation to take preventative and/or legal action required to resolve complex ASB issues.
- Effectively manage your casework ensuring it is progressed professionally, promptly and in accordance with Council policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Having a clear action plan for all your open cases and review cases regularly by keeping detailed records of all actions and communications with involved parties.
- To ensure that duties are undertaken with due regard and compliance with the Data protection Act and other legislation.
Your Skills:
- You have excellent knowledge to effectively manage ASB cases.
- You work well with others, with good communication skills to ensure tenants live safely in their homes.
- You will have experience of drafting legal paperwork including notices, witness statement and attending court.
