We are seeking a Senior Programmer to join the Macroeconomic Modelling and Forecasting team.
The successful candidate will work on developing the code used by our global macro econometric model, NiGEM.
This is an exciting role where you are encouraged to explore your own ideas on how to build a GUI from the ground up which is capable of maintaining an interface with a legacy mathematical model, while developing your own programming and project management skills. You will help us to develop the software underpinning our global macro econometric model, NiGEM, so that it remains the macroeconomic model of choice for institutions across the world.
The essential requirements we are looking for in the successful candidate are:
Experience
3. Using a range of techniques and methodologies, notably GUI and data visualisation.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
1. Five (5) or more years of coding experience including experience in providing software to external stakeholders.
2. Provide examples of coding excellence with solid principles and the ability to provide clean, maintainable code.
3. The project requires the ability to think independently, own challenges, and collaborate when needed.
4. A high level of attention to detail is needed to ensure the accuracy of internal reports and code.
5. Apply basic design skills to contribute to user interface and experience aspects of the prototype, with particular focus on designing effective client interactions and data visualizations, aiding in the creation of intuitive and user-centric products.
6. Show cross-functional collaboration where working with both internal and external stakeholders formed a core part of a project.
7. Previous experience of working with legacy code and a good level of mathematical aptitude would be ideal
