About The Role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an Applications Support Engineer to join our growing team in Newcastle
As An Applications Support Engineer You Will:
- Works within the Front Office team to resolve issues passed over from the Service Desk, with external suppliers or colleagues as appropriate
- Supports colleagues and is supported by them in application/end user computing management tasks
- Implements change to applications and their server environment in a controlled manner
What you'll be doing
Operational Responsibilities
- 2nd/3rd Line Support and Configuration changes for existing systems
- Assist in project implementation
- Work with Head of Front Office in onboarding new technologies and applications
- Maintain and manage existing applications. E.g. vulnerability management, version updates
- Work with Change Manager to ensure smooth implementation of changes to the applications estate
- Act as SME and authority for third party applications

- Demonstrates clear understanding of own targets and responsibilities

- Solutions remain aligned to the technology roadmap (and exceptions are agreed)
- Up to date and clear documentation on the key processes within area of responsibility
Customers
- Positive customer feedback
- Clear focus on completing all activity within the performance standards agreed with the customers
Who we're looking for
- Strong knowledge of ITSM tools
- Technical experience / understanding of the application development lifecycle including being able to identify where things are likely to go wrong
- Experience working within an ITIL framework
- Experience of identifying and embedding industry best practice into current ways of working
- Knowledge of change management processes
