Are you an experienced ICT Applications Support Officer looking for an exciting new opportunity within a dynamic and forward-thinking local authority? West Berkshire Council is seeking an ICT Applications Support Officer to join our busy ICT Service, providing essential support for a range of applications and systems to help deliver excellent services to our local community.
The Role
As part of the Systems Integration Team, you will be responsible for:
- Providing day-to-day support and maintenance for ICT applications, ensuring their optimal performance and availability.
- Assisting users with application-related queries, troubleshooting issues, and providing timely resolutions.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify application requirements and support the implementation of new solutions.
- Monitoring and managing application performance, including data integrity and security.
- Participating in application upgrades, installations, and configuration changes.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of application documentation, including user guides and technical specifications.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Proven experience in ICT applications support, ideally within a local authority or similar environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of a range of applications, including experience with troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple requests.
- Knowledge of application integration and data exchange would be advantageous.
