Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our Centralised Booking Service in Women & Children's Health.
The role of the Centralised Booking Office is to provide a comprehensive booking service for all newly pregnant women referred to NBT for community midwifery care.
Along with two colleagues, the administrator will be responsible for the day to day running of the centralised booking service. Requests and referrals will be prioritised ensuring that appointments are scheduled according to gestation and following NBT guidance and policy.
We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, both face to face and on the telephone. The ability to deal with varied administrative duties, IT systems and changing priorities is essential.
The hours of the post are 37.5 hours per week and can be worked flexibly within the hours of the service (Monday - Friday 07:30 - 17:00).

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role include coordinating, booking and rearranging women’s appointments, handling sensitive and confidential information, managing access to the BadgerNotes portal, and liaising with community midwifery teams across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. The post holder will also be required to liaise with neighbouring trust community teams and booking office as required to redirect referrals, to liaise with screening midwives as required, to record and correct information held on the patient administration system (including maintaining data quality), and to troubleshoot patient access issues to the BadgerNotes portal.

The centralised booking office is a small friendly team located within the women and children's quarter at Southmead hospital. The team works closely with community midwifery teams across Bristol.

The Trust moved the majority of its acute services to the Brunel Building in May 2014 which is regarded as one of the best hospital facilities in Europe, on the Southmead Hospital site. The Trust has teaching status and is linked with the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England. The women and children’s services are delivered on the same site in a closely adjacent building.
