About The Apprenticeship Role

This role is an Apprentice Project Manager based in Telford with our project team. You will study a Degree Apprenticeship in Professional Practice in Project Management to achieve a BSc (Hons) degree. This will take around 3.5 years to complete and you will attend our university partner for your studies in blocks. You will work40 hours per week in a hybrid pattern with time spent in the office, on-site and working from home.

During your apprenticeship You will learn from our current Project Managers, learning all aspects of the role and then applying your knowledge to our live projects to support the Delivery teams to deliver a growing workload for our clients. You will collaborate with your team and your Principal Project Manager to learn how to deliver projects throughout their lifecycles. Our sites and projects are focused on construction and civil engineering linked to water infrastructure.

What Your Day Could Look Like

  • Learning what delivery and financial performance looks like and how to monitor and review this to help identify issues and work to put this right.
  • Understanding what cost reconciliation is. Learning to work with both commercial and finance teams to develop the ability to make sure cost implications are covered.
  • Learning about what our internal design team does and the role they play in projects. Working with the Design team to make sure the clients expectations are met.
  • Understand what a stakeholder is. Develop the ability to work with different types of stakeholders involved in the projects to make sure everything is delivered successfully.
  • Learning about what preconstruction and ECI (early contractor involvement) phases are within a project. Begin to gain experience on how to create and maintain project programmes during these phases.
  • Learning to work with the delivery teams throughout the construction process and life cycle of the project and gain experience in project managing them to make sure the project is delivered successfully.
  • Developing an excellent awareness of health and safety and learn to become accountable for safety and compliance auditing.

About You

You will need the following to be eligible for this apprenticeship:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at a grade 4 or above.
  • Level 3 qualifications such as:
    • 3x A Levels
    • A T Level qualification
    • A BTEC qualification
This apprenticeship is a September 2025 start and open all who have the right qualifications, so if you are still finishing your school/college studies you welcome you to apply for this role with your predicated grades.

Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence would be desirable. If you are currently learning to drive, we may be able to support financially towards this, dependent on meeting our criteria.

This apprenticeship would particularly suit someone who has good digital skills and can use Microsoft office. We would also like you to be able to show you have good written skills and can talk to others well. You will need to be super organised and have a good attention to detail. Being able to work in a team but also independently is important. Good and developing financial/commercial/analytical skills would also benefit this role.

For this apprenticeship, you need to be absolutely committed to becoming a Project Manager and studying for your degree you must be sure this is the career for you and have spent time researching it and be studying/have studied the right qualifications.
