Join KCOM’s Customer Operations team as an Apprentice Real Time Capacity & Data Analyst and gain hands-on experience in workforce planning, real-time management, and data analysis—all while studying towards a nationally recognised Level 4 Data Analyst qualification.
You’ll play a key part in helping our Contact Centre teams run smoothly and efficiently by supporting with schedules, analysing data, and assisting in planning workforce capacity. Whether you’re monitoring live performance, organising team meetings, updating reports, or helping improve customer experience systems, you’ll be gaining valuable experience that can launch your career in operations or data analytics.
This apprenticeship offers a dynamic and supportive environment where you will be mentored in-house too by experienced professionals to develop key skills in data analysis, report production, and system maintenance. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with real data, learning how to interpret trends, generate meaningful insights, and present findings effectively. Alongside technical training, you’ll be encouraged to identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to shape more efficient and impactful processes across the team. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, grow, and make a tangible difference from day one.
Salary – Up to £20,000 dependant on experience
Location – Carr Lane, Hull, with hybrid working opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor contact centre performance, helping reduce wait times and improve the customer experience.
- Support with managing schedules, shift swaps and events to improve workforce efficiency.
- Assist in demand forecasting and planning pack production, learning how to predict and plan for contact volumes.
- Help manage and refresh operational reports, supporting insight-led decisions.
- Organise daily team huddles and meetings, capture actions, and support effective communication.
- Get hands-on with our customer service platform (Puzzel), learning how to manage tickets and support users.
- Help maintain high-quality customer communication by supporting content reviews.
- Support internal events and champion initiatives that boost morale and performance.
Candidate Requirements
We’re not looking for experience—we’re looking for enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. If you’re organised, detail-oriented, and enjoy solving problems with data, this could be the start of your career in analytics or operational planning.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and strong organisational habits
- A proactive attitude with the ability to manage your time
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- A genuine interest in data, operations, or customer experience
- GCSEs in English and Maths (A–C / 4–9) or equivalent
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
You’ll need either appropriate prior qualifications or experience to qualify for a Level 4 programme—this might include an A Level, BTEC, or similar qualification in a related subject such as IT, Maths, or a relevant field.

Alongside your role at KCOM, you’ll be enrolled on the Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship programme, which includes:
- Advanced training in data tools, statistical analysis, databases, and visualisation
- 1:1 support from a dedicated skills coach
- Monthly virtual training sessions tailored to your role

- A nationally recognised qualification that opens doors to exciting roles in data, analytics, and business intelligence
Duration: 18–21 months
Outcome: Data Analyst Level 4 Qualification
