At Ormiston Ilkeston Enterprise Academy, we are looking to appoint an apprentice teaching assistant. The postholder will be required to work with individual SEN pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff. You will support pupils in understanding instructions, keeping pupils on task and assist in the development of school initiatives.
This apprenticeship role is ideal for someone enthusiastic, motivated and eager to start a career in education. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience while supporting staff and pupils in day-to-day activities. You will act as a key worker for SEND students if required and provide personal care when necessary.
As part of the apprenticeship, you will take part in training and complete coursework towards your qualification. The apprenticeship is supported by LMP and is a 12-month programme.

About You
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in working in a school environment, with a keen willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
To be considered for the post you must have achieved a minimum of GCSE Grade C / Grade 4 or equivalent in maths and English and be prepared to undertake the apprenticeship training.
The role requires the postholder to have good communication and interpersonal skills. We are seeking someone who is reliable, punctual and professional.
