This is an exciting opportunity for those looking to earn a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography through a level 6 apprenticeship in conjunction with Sheffield Hallam University. Based in vibrant Brighton, you’ll support patients through their cancer journey while developing your skills in a supportive, innovative environment.

Our sites are equipped with state-of-the-art technology including Elekta Versa HD Linacs, TomoTherapy units, and Philips Widebore CT scanners. We also offer advanced HDR brachytherapy services.

This 3-year apprenticeship programme combines academic study mostly through distance learning with Sheffield Hallam University and practical training at our Radiotherapy departments in The Royal Sussex County Hospital, Preston Park Radiotherapy Centre and Eastbourne Radiotherapy Unit. On successful completion of the apprenticeship programme and upon registration as a Therapeutic Radiographer with HCPC, you will transition to the role of a newly qualified band 5 Therapeutic Radiographer.

Programme Start Date: March 2026

Interviews: Approx. October 2025

During the apprenticeship period, you will spend 80% of your time working in a Radiotherapy Support Worker role as part of the Radiotherapy team and 20% of your time will be spent learning ‘off the job’ in dedicated learning activities.

You Will

  • Gain experience in all aspects of radiotherapy service delivery, cancer care and oncology.
  • Learn about patient care, treatment planning, radiation delivery, and quality assurance.
  • Gain the proficiency and skills required to qualify as a HCPC registered Therapeutic Radiographer.

You will be fully supported throughout your apprenticeship and beyond, with dedicated academic and clinical mentorship.
