Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as an Electrician at Sellafield, Seascale and you’ll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you.
To undertake electrical installation and maintenance works as part of the MEP infrastructure delivery on the Sellafield site, in compliance with all project specifications, relevant legislation, safety regulations, and company procedures. The role supports the successful execution of BBK’s nuclear and infrastructure projects in a highly regulated environment.
What you'll be doing
- Install and commission industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, containment systems, lighting, earthing, and control wiring in accordance with engineering drawings and site standards.
- Conduct installation works on LV and ELV systems, temporary electrics, and MEP infrastructure within nuclear-regulated environments.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest quality standards, with strict adherence to Sellafield site rules, nuclear safety protocols, and HSE requirements.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to ensure coordinated and timely delivery of MEP works.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, cable schedules, and method statements.
- Undertake testing and inspection in line with IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Complete job records, permits, and relevant documentation as required.
- Participate in daily briefings, toolbox talks, and safety moments, contributing to a strong safety culture.
- Support junior electricians and apprentices through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
Who we're looking for
The Following Qualities/experience Are Essential
- Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship (or NVQ Level 3 equivalent).
- ECS / CSCS card – relevant to role.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Experience in industrial or infrastructure electrical installations (preferably nuclear, oil & gas, utilities, or heavy industrial environments).
- Understanding of MEP systems in large infrastructure projects.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated environment with strict procedural compliance.
- IOSH preferred
