Area Support Manager – Fixed Term Contract for 12-Month Maternity Cover

Home based with extensive travel across Northern Ireland & occasional travel to Scotland

Salary: Up to £37,500 DOE

Are you ready for a new challenge that blends strategic thinking with hands-on operational support? IVC Evidensia is seeking a people-focused, solutions-driven Area Support Manager for a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover in Northern Ireland.

About the Role

As an Area Support Manager (ASM), you’ll be the go-to person for our veterinary practices across Northern Ireland. You’ll work closely with our Area Director to provide practical support to local leadership teams, helping improve performance, boost well being, and drive consistency across clinics. Whether it’s facilitating operational improvements, supporting team development, or embedding best practice – you’ll be at the heart of making it all happen.

No two days are the same – and that’s exactly what makes this role so exciting!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Be the first point of contact for practice leaders – troubleshooting and offering hands-on support
  • Build meaningful relationships across our clinics, keeping teams connected and supported
  • Drive integration of new practices into the IVC Evidensia family, including on boarding and training
  • Help organise and lead local meetings – from setting the agenda to following up on actions
  • Support leadership teams to deliver on KPIs using dashboards and business insights
  • Identify trends, performance gaps, and growth opportunities, and help put plans into action
  • Provide operational admin support including HR coordination, recruitment, finance, and H&S
  • Work collaboratively with central teams to support CPD and leadership development initiatives

What We’re Looking For

Coaching & Leadership: 2+ years’ experience mentoring or developing senior staff

People Skills: You’re empathetic, emotionally intelligent, and able to unite diverse teams

Commercial Awareness: You understand performance metrics and how to improve them

Adaptable & Proactive: Driven to find solutions, improve systems, and lead change

Influential Communicator: Confident in challenging norms while building trust

Organised & Efficient: Able to juggle a variety of tasks and competing priorities

Additional Details

Hybrid role: 2 days home-based, ~3 days travelling to practices across NI, occasional travel to Scotland for regional meetings/practice visits, car allowance provided – a full driving licence is essential, fixed-term contract (12 months) to cover maternity leave.

Why Join IVC Evidensia?

At IVC Evidensia, we’re committed to investing in our people and our practices.
