As (Senior) Art Director, you’ll serve as Ffern’s in‑house visual lead, reporting directly to the Creative Director. You will own all visual expression across the company (excluding graphic design), setting the aesthetic tone for seasonal campaigns, brand communications, film, retail, digital environments, and more.
You’ll translate Ffern’s unique identity, rooted in nature, folklore, seasonal rhythms, and artisanal craftsmanship, into visual storytelling that resonates emotionally across all touchpoints.

- Lead art director for seasonal Instagram content stills shoots.
- Work closely with the Creative Director to define and execute company‑wide visual content strategy and art direction.
- Guide the visual identity of Ffern’s films, editorial content, retail environments (including the flagship store at 23 Beak Street, Soho), digital media and content.
- Develop and oversee mood boards, art visualisations, layouts, shooting direction, styling, and set‑scapes.
- Collaborate across teams: creative, content, PR, product, and film to ensure visual consistency across campaigns and channels.
- Deeply understand the Ffern brand, and work with the Creative Director to continually develop our visual brand.
- Mentor and inspire internal and external creative partners to elevate all visual output.
Requirements
- 10 yrs. experience within art direction, ideally within a consumer or luxury brand context.
- Deep ability to translate brand values into compelling visual concepts and storytelling frameworks.
- A refined visual aesthetic with sensitivity to texture, material, light, colour, and seasonal nuance.
- Exceptional organisational skills—capable of managing multiple visual projects across different formats simultaneously.
- Collaborative spirit and experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external creatives.
- Passionate about craft, narrative, nature-inspired visual worlds, and design with purpose.
- Curious mindset, constantly inspired by visual culture, folklore, heritage, and the changing seasons.
- A strong portfolio — professional or personal — showing mastery of colour, texture, materials, references, still life, space, and the ability to evoke emotion through imagery.
- Good Figma skills would be a bonus.
