Brief Description
Artisan (B&C) – Electrician
Are you a skilled electrician ready to take the lead on-site? We’re looking for a proactive Artisan (B&C) – Electrician to carry out and oversee inspection, fault-finding, maintenance, and renewal work across our sites. You’ll play a key role in ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
You’ll need:
- A Gold ECS card (valid for at least 2 more years)
- City & Guilds 2330, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition (2382-22), and 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
- Confidence working independently and unsupervised
- A flexible approach to working patterns and tasks
- A full, clean driving licence held for more than 12 months

About The Role (External)
As an Artisan (B&C) – Electrician, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining safe systems of work for yourself, your team, and contractors. You will carry out duties in line with method statements, risk assessments, and industry standards, ensuring minimal disruption to customers and stakeholders. Competence, training, and adherence to safety protocols are essential to the role.
You will lead by example, directing and delivering work safely and efficiently. This includes preparing site-specific risk assessments, reviewing documentation, monitoring work quality, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. You’ll be accountable for ensuring that your team holds valid competencies and that all tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials are safe, suitable, and correctly maintained.
In addition, you’ll maintain accurate records of completed and outstanding tasks, contribute to your own learning and support the development of others, while consistently upholding company policies and procedures. Excellent service delivery and stakeholder communication are key to your success in this role.
Responsibilities for Electrician:
Maintain a strong focus on customer needs while completing all administrative and compliance tasks, including timely updates to statutory logbooks and service records. Carry out fault finding, general maintenance, and repairs to electrical systems in public buildings, using testing equipment and referring to plans and specifications. Work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility, strong communication, and a proactive approach to safety, accountability, and national electrical standards.
Essential:
- Valid in date Gold ECS card with registered electrician status – with a minimum of 2 years validity
- City & Guilds 2330 level 3 (or newer equivalent)
- NVQ level 3 electrotechnical services installation or maintenance (or newer equivalent)
- City & Guilds 2382-22 18th edition
- City & Guilds 2391 electrical test and inspect.
- 5 years’ experience working as electrician – Fault attendance and planned maintenance activities
- Able to work alone and unsupervised
- Flexible approach to working patterns
- Experience of arranging and implementing safe systems of work.
- Full clean driving licence held for longer than 12 months - Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need.
- Willingness to undertake work outside of core hours to fulfil business requirements (overtime opportunities)
